One of my biggest pet peeves is that somehow I seem to be the only person in the world who means it when I say I'm down for whatever. Like just name whatever you want, I swear on my soul my comfort zone is bigger than yours. I'm fine with sitting at home drinking tea and playing board games, going out and ending up snorting lines off a park bench with 14 strangers at 3 AM, going to national theatre to see their production of La Traviata, sitting outside a grocery store watching pigeons fight over french fries, I'm 100% down. Just tell me how to dress for the occasion and I'll be there.

And then people are like "nooooo I don't wanna take charge just you decide uwu" and that's essentially a code for "I don't want to tell you what I am capable and willing to do, I want you to guess what I want to do, and I'm not giving you a clue because I don't know either", and then they insist that they're not, they're down for anything too, and it's like bitch we both know that one of us is lying and that person isn't me.

I'm down for anything except ice fishing, cat-calling and sports events. I might make an exception for some sport that seems fun and interesting, but I'm not sitting through an entire hockey game. Like those are my limits, just fucking pick something.

I always feel like the worst kind of character redemptions (other than redemptions where a character immediately redeems themselves after one conversation) are ones where the villain is betrayed and so they switch sides, and it's treated like they've become a better person.

all of them have SEVERE PTSD on top of grieving a majority of their comrades and their childhood home

furthermore, Reiner and Pieck haven't even seen Annie in 4 years and there's so much to address there

and there's this disconnect between Pieck and the other 2 because Reiner and Annie got sent to Paradis 5 years prior to Pieck so they have no understanding of what the other experienced

i really hope Reiner gets to heal his relationships with the others

i really hope Annie learns empathy

but i especially hope that Pieck gets to actually express her true feelings for once instead of keeping it all together because she's the older sister in a way

The flipside to fans overstepping is show creators and actors who enmesh themselves in fandom. I get loving your work and wanting to share that with fans but that’s what the show and interview and maybe fan q&a’s are for? Like you said maybe some of it is unfair embarrassment because of past fandom’s that haven’t been particularly kind to sapphic shippers, but there’s also a boundary crossing with actors that get super involved with fans. Things get weird and cliquey real quick. Not only in that annoying way where other fans start to take their word as law but in a how much attention do you as a celeb need way lol. Maybe that’s mean lmao. But yeah it’s all so silly and unserious Im just always stunned that fandom is becoming so normalized.

LOL eesh yep i don't think i've ever really experienced it first hand on that scale before, but i can imagine exactly how annoying that would be. and stifling, actually. fandom space is kind of sacred... i'd hate to have somebody who's that close to the source material be looking over my shoulder constantly, critiquing my silly little brain worms.

i think it's very cool how accessible and normalised fandom is becoming, having experienced a time when it really just was not (and god, i imagine it's even wilder for the OG fandom elders), but it really does make it all the more important to find your own little tiny circle of similarly-minded weirdos who are on your level, and to become extremely liberal with the block button.

that feeling when you're scrolling through ao3 and you find a fic that sounds promising, and you click on it expecting specific character interactions from the tags (in this case Zuko and Toph) and the writing's really good, and the prologue's interesting and offers good set-up for the premise... but then in the second chapter the author randomly introduces an oc for no reason. literally no reason. and stucks her to zuko like a clamp-leech. and you hope for a while that maybe it's toph in disguise but no. it's a literal stranger that just HAS to stay with Zuko for ten chapters. and when she FINALLY fucks off, the writer promises she'll be back in another ten or so chapters 💀

Looking into stuff for my Sonikal fic, and I realized something very funny and telling about how the hero cast feels about Eggman.

So in 06, Elise dying on board the Egg Carrier after it crashed was a plot beat right? Sonic and his friends time travel back to the past to fix it n whatnot. But the the funny thing is this:

They talk about Elise's death and wanting to prevent it, but iirc NOBODY makes ANY reference or acknowledgement to Eggman also dying in the crash - which he does. Nobody gives a shit about him. 06 has problems with character writing, but that element at least being kept intact was so good.
